clipper vocabulary word of the week

Here is your Ivan Zoot / Andis / Clipperguy vocabulary word of the week for this week.

Geometric Style – The squareness strived for when creating flattop styles and many masculine haircut silhouettes.

This squareness or strong geometry is one of the keys to great men's hair cutting. Vertical sectioning at the sides and palm to palm cutting are great ways to encourage this squareness. Longer shears also aid in building square shapes, especially when cutting the hair on the top of the head.

This cut shows strong geometry. Image here.

Business Builder tip of the week, week 8, 2010

Here is your Ivan Zoot / Andis / ClipperGuy Says business builder tip of the week for week 8, 2010.

Take walk-ins – Enthusiastically take walk-in clients in between your booked appointments. Walk-ins are new clients excited to be found or ongoing customers whose lives just do not fit with making appointments. I used to take 2 appointments per hour and fill the spots between with at least 2 walk-ins each half hour. This kept my chair full all day with minimum six clients per hour. This kept the waiting room turning over rapidly. In just a short time clients came to know that at 10 and 40 after the hour an appointment would be hopping out of the chair and I would be ready for a walk-in. Maximize your time and the time of your busy clients.

Top Five Tips for using hair spray

This week at Zoot! Hair we are talking about the Top Five Tips for using hair spray.
The link is below for the Top Five Tips for using hair spray video.

Here is the video

The top five tips for using hair spray are:

1. Back off - Spray from about 15 inches... allows the spray to spread and cover in a fine mist. great for holding a style.

2. Ge up close - For lift and style support... move in close to the base with the can and spot spray directly

3. Spray under - To build volume and support instead of spraying on top of the hair, get up under and into it for support.

4. Flip over - For big hair building just flip your head over and get really underneath. Big hair can really happen this way.

5. layer it on - Even light hold sprays can firm up when you spray and wait and spray and wait... allow for drying time in between. layer it on and last all day.

Tons of Typos

Yes. There are tons of typos in this blog. I am known for typos. I am in a hurry. I am excited. I just can't wait to share great stuff with my fans and followers. The fact that I type with just 2 fingers... and sometimes a 3rd does not help. More important to me than spelling it right is ... did you understand what I meant... the idea is more important then the spelling of it... I was once told... only individuals of narrow vison and limited creativity can spell words just 1 way! I have choices!
