Jim Jones and me!

Jim Jones and me
Jim Jones taught me how to clipper cut. Jim Jones taught me how to share clipper cutting with others. Jim has been an important mentor to me for a long time. Over the past few years I have respectfully referred stylists to Jim and his presentations at every event we are at together. I even send stylists and aspiring clipper cutters to see him in Lansing, MI where he has his shop and training facility. Jim and I are both busy teaching at most major events. At IBS Las Vegas, for the first time in our career we were sharing a classroom and a stage. This was a HUGE thrill for me. Pictured is Jim and me at the classroom sign outside our room. This was neat-O. Clipper cutter students did not even have to leave the room for the BEST in clipper cutting education. Jim Jones and me! Wow! This was fun. Thank you Jim! For more education from Jim contact him at 800.962.6178 or on the web at http://www.jimjonesseminars.com/
Jim is still the legend in this business. Thank you Jim!

Behind the scenes at the video shoot

Behind the scenes at the video shoot
The Scissorboy.com video shoot in LA was a lot of fun. The host salon, Static salon, was great. More on them tomorrow. The location was ideal. I love Melrose ave. I could walk the street there all day looking in stores and people watching. We had a nice “live studio audience” made up of the salon staff, clinets, passers by and students from a local cosmetology school. I am sure I am always just a bit better with an audience. The models were ideal for the cuts we were trying to do. Jeremy Knott, The clipper cutter we had as a guest in Long beach at ISSE works at Static and set the whole thing up for us. He sourced the models. More on Jeremy here http://www.losangelesbarbershop.com/ Contact me if you would like to hose a video shoot in your shop. Esp for the YouTube program we are always looking for neat places to film and great heads to cut. Behind the scene pic is attached here too.

Awesome flat top at the video shoot

Flat top at the video shoot
At the scissorboy.com video shoot I cut one of the best flat tops I have cut in some time. Amazing what a live audience will do for a performance. Great, willing modes. Nice hair. Awesome flat. Go to http://www.scissorboy.com/ to subscribe to the video series. Good stuff straight to your in box.
