Clipper cutter clipper tip # 83

Here is your Ivan Zoot / Andis clipper cutter clipper tip of the week for this week. Tip number #83

83. Handle Up, Nose Down – When cutting clipper-over-comb, keep your comb at an angle. Keep the handle end of the clipper comb up and the nose down. Cut against gravity for smoother tapering. Avoid horizontal comb position to prevent steps and marks in your taper.

Clipper cutter clipper tip # 82

Here is your next Ivan Zoot / Andis clipper cutter clipper tip.
Number 82
Spray Your Comb – Hair dries down as you cut. Instead of spraying down the entire head, spray your comb. This allows you to place moisture exactly where you need it and not over-saturate the hair. When you are done cutting you will likely be drying it... so the less moisture you put into the hair late in the cut reduces drying time. When the hair is drying down as you cut you also get a feel for the finished look. You can make subtle cutting and tailoring tweaks as you go rather than fully drying the cut and then re-wetting to adjust.
